The Vodafone Group R&D M2M Programme is investigating alternative methods for doing this to those used currently. This project is to investigate specific aspects of a tracking/locating system and generate demonstration/prototypes. Typical areas of work are expected to include: - desk based research - analysis & planning - software engineering & interfacing - interfacing to external third parties - interfacing with other Vodafone products/projects - demonstration/prototype - conclusions and recommendations Main deliverables expected of participant during the project: " - Work breakdown structure and scheduling of the project - Design of the project - Interface(s) - Progress reports - Documentation (technical, operational, communications, support, etc) - Fully working demonstration/prototype solution" Key relationships for the delivery of the project - R&D M2M Programme team - Other members of R&D & Vodafone involved in related projects/products - External third parties Required technical skills (describe in detail) " - System engineering understanding - Interfaces (physical, logical, software, etc) - Software engineering (generation would be an advantage) - Implementation/deployment of demonstration systems - Operation and support of demonstration systems" Required personal skills:Personal interest in technology and its application - Well organized - Good communicator - Good team player as well as being able to work independently - Logical thinker - Good practical as well as theoretical skills
